Service Description

Yoga therapy is a holistic mind-body practice that uses movement, relaxation, self-observation breathwork and meditation to help relieve stress, and manage underlying health conditions or symptoms arising within the different systems of the mind-body. Each client will receive a personalised treatment plan based on their personal conditions. Yoga is both an art and a science, serving as a means to connect with yourself and tap into your own healing powers through conscious awareness. Many people come to me with a physical chronic condition and as we trace back they begin to realise that some of this will have arisen due to certain other mental stressors from their past. And the scientific evidence suggests that many chronic health conditions such as autoimmune disease is as a result of stress. And through Yoga therapy we are able to relieve symptoms, reduce pain, even reverse some of the conditions they are living with. In Yoga therapy, we start on the physical level and work inwards. There are 11 organ systems in the body: Skeletal, Circulatory, Lymphatic, Respiratory, Endocrine, Digestive and Excretory Systems to mention but a few. By applying yogic therapy techniques tailored to address specific health conditions affecting these systems, we can restore balance and health. A personalised plan is provided using a combination of bodywork, conscious breathwork, mindfulness, visualisation techniques, deep relaxation and meditation you can activate the body’s energetic system, or prana, to initiate the healing process as well as find resilience and strength to continue to do what you do. This is combined with Ayurvedic practices to ensure that therapeutic plan is appropriate to your personal dosha (body-mind typology). And so you see, yoga is naturally a holistic therapy to help manage and improve many conditions of the mind, body, heart and Spirit. Some reasons why people come to see me for yoga therapy: Mind Stress and Anxiety Post-traumatic stress Depression Lack of Sleep Overthinking and negative thoughts Body Autoimmune disorders including arthritis, fibromyalgia, Fatigue including ME Back Pain Improve flexibility Breathing difficulties including COPD Heart To release pain from a relationship To be more forgiving To love more Spirit To understand the big questions: Who am I?
